"I like to believe that people in the long run are going to do more to promote peace than our governments. Indeed, I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of the way and let them have it."
Dwight D. Eisenhower (1890-1969), 34th President of the United States
CAN IT GET ANY WORSE?
It already has. Now they are dragging out the discredited artifacts from the Iraq disaster, Gates and Petraeus. Only Hillary Clinton, the chuckler over Muammar Gaddafi's disembowelment and anal rape by the beastial "Free Syria Army," is missing. But her replacement, stately, stuffy John Kerry, appearing amazingly ill at ease and tongue-tied, plays the echo game of regurgitating the same unfounded assertions. He remains unbelievable at first sight. But not so unbelievable as the president who will now harangue for war all over the land giving six interviews using every TV channel known to mankind. While the White House, already having admitted the lack of evidence, resolutely asserts that common sense alone indicates Assad's guilt. Actually, common sense alone indicates the opposite. And much more.
What common sense alone does indicate is that the Obama administration is unhinged from reality and crumbling. How could a bright, energetic young man, fervently endorsed by his country and the world as a peacemaker, end up like this? But that's a story for another day, if there is another day. Simply put, the 2008 Nobel Peace Prize winner has betrayed the covenant he had forged so mightily with the people, people who yearned for peace after eight painful Bush years. Obama's "leading from behind" support for the destruction of the Syrian government, now in its third year, is itself a violation of the Nuremberg Tribunal Charter. The American golden-tongued Nobel Laureate is liable for committing crimes against peace and war crimes. And so are his ever compliant cheerleaders, Kerry being next in line to stand in the dock in The Hague. And the media frenzy in Washington, the shameful spewing of government lies and trash talk...there will be a place for them too. But here's the real news. The people have risen.
The American people are speaking out. They are sick of the lies of their so-called leaders. The lies of Vietnam fathered the lies of Iraq and grandfathered today's deceit about Syria. The people see how its government fails, at home and in its affairs in the wider world. And the failures are monumental. Examine today's catastrophe. No dialogue. No diplomacy. Since we have the guns, no boots necessary on Syrian soil. And no brains allowed in the rancid diatribes that protests far, far too much about honor and responsibility. Ignored is the use of poison gas in the early 1920s by England in what is now Iraq and Jordan, Winston Churchill being its prime advocate. What is ignored is the catastrophe caused by the United States in Vietnam by the lethal spraying of Agent Orange. And lest we forget the gratuitous incineration Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Not a great record to support all the gaseous bragging about one's righteousness and civility.
Yes, the people are fed up. And the beleaguered president and his hapless helpers will likely feel the full wrath of their once adoring supporters. A historic day is coming. And the politicians better get out of the way and let the people have what they so long for...PEACE. And not just the American people either.
But can it get any worse? Yes it can. Obama can again ignore the people and bomb anyway. And that will be the end of all of it.

WRITE AND TELEPHONE THE U.S. CONGRESS. TELL THEM TO GET OUT OF THE WAY AND VOTE NO ON BOMBING SYRIA. YOU CAN HAVE PEACE.
